For effective troubleshooting it is useful when log file contains all needed information, including environment the application runs in. Ideally that kind of information would be in header of the file. There is a layout in NLog that adds header and footer to log files. However it does not do that for archive files. And when current file gets archived (because of datetime / size limit) it does not get footer written to it. As well as newly created file does not get header it it.


Please add headers and footers to archive files. Or only headers (that is more important than footers).

This has been fixed in 4.3.0 beta 2. 4.3.0 RTM is expected in 2 weeks
